The Ministry of Education has now decided to construct computer laboratories across the country of the initial project.

 According to Principal Secretary, Belio Kipsang has now embarked on a programme to construct the labs in 25000 public primaries schools across the nation. 

He spoke on Friday when he appeared before National Assembly’s Education Committee during the presentation of budgetary proposals.

 “There has been a policy change in the programme from one child-one laptop to the construction of computer laboratories for ICT integration,” he said, as quoted by Daily Nation.

 He defended the project saying it is meant for the good of the students of this nation. The change in the programme comes after the ministry of Education face complications in the cost of the same. 

A report prepared by former acting Moi University Vice-Chancellor Laban Ayiro revealed that most the project is yet to bear fruits.

 During the meeting, Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed revealed that the government is committed to ensuring that students in secondary schools have an ideal environment to pursue their education. She also said that there are plans to ensure better service delivery.
