The locals claimed that the MPs are only interested in earning salaries and not serving the common poor citizens.

"It is sad that the MPs want to push the election date from August to December so that they can stay for long in office," said Fredrick Mokaya.

Mr. Mokaya urged  MPs to oppose the motion in parliament in solidarity with people.

Emmanuel Kiriago said the MPs have prioritized their stomachs only.

"Kenyans will suffer paying huge taxes to pay salaries  the selfish MPs' salaries who want to push election date from August to December.

"It is not acceptable and President Uhuru Kenyatta should intervene to stop the MPs from changing the election date," he said.

Elizabeth Ondoro accused the MPs for being selfish to extend their stay in office.

"I disagree with the MPs decision to change the election date. MPs in the 12th Parliament should focus on serving the electorates and not changing election dates," she stated.
