West Pokot County bagged this year’s Miss Tourism Kenya on Sunday morning.
Sarah Pkyach beat 39 other contestants from 39 counties to emerge the victor of coveted title.40 counties were competing for the title after seven counties pulled out of the beauty contest.
Pkyach will now be Miss Tourism Kenya for the year 2018/2019.
West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo, who was represented at the affair by his wife, congratulated the winner for shinning in the race.
“Congrats Sarah Pkyach for being crowned the coveted title, Miss Tourism Kenya 2018. You have confirmed that indeed West Pokot is The Land of Hidden Treasures,” the governor tweeted.
The new Miss Tourism is also Miss Tourism West Pokot County and Miss JKUAT (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology).
Interestingly, a resident who was quoted by a campus news site had predicted Pkyach’s bright future when she won the Miss Tourism West Pokot County.
“My fellow Kenyans, join hands with me in congratulating this beautiful young Lady by the Name Sara Pkiach Longolomoi for being Miss Tourism West Pokot County 2018. She gonna be miss tourism Kenya,” the resident finished.
