Francis Kyalo is in despair since his hope of reporting to the school he worked so hard to join is fading with each passing day.

He sat for his KCPE examinations last year at Rwaka Primary School in Limuru and secured a place at JG Kiere-ini Boys Secondary School, Githunguri, after scoring 331 marks out of the possible 500.

The 14-year-old boy has now come out to seek financial help so he can proceed with his education and realise his dream of becoming a doctor.

The boy's mother, Sera Mutuku, is a casual labourer at a tea farm in the area but since July last year, she has been out of employment.

The mother of five has resulted in doing menial jobs in the village which sometimes are hard to come by.

"I move around working for people who usually pay between Sh200 and Sh250 per day, all which I use to feed my family," said Mutuku, a single mother.

Her firstborn completed her secondary school education last year while her second-born is in Form Four. The other two kids are in primary school.

The family is seeking to raise Sh38,000 so that Kyalo can report to school.

JG Kiere-ini principal has assured his slot is still preserved but observed it is only for the next few days.

"I'm appealing to any well-wisher out there to help me raise the required school fees so I can continue with my education," said Kyalo.

Donations can be sent to his mother Sera Mutuku on her phone 0724 817101.
