Former Nyali parliamentary aspirant ODM's Said Abdallah Saedo on Thursday pulled a crowd to court during ruling of his election petition against his August 8, 2017 opponent, current MP Mohammad Ali.
Saedo who moved to court of appeal after the High Court upheld Ali's win in February, also lost the case after Justice Martha Koome said the petition lacked merit.According to the judge, the petitioner did not provide sufficient evidence to support voter bribery claims, alleged intimidation and alleged use of security officers to influence the election outcome.
"We respect the verdict delivered by the court of appeal in Mombasa today. We would like to thank Mohamed Balala and his entire team of lawyers for all the hard work they have put in," the former candidate finally said.
Saedo who is a cousin to Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, was accompanied by several supporters who expressed disaapontment after the ruling, saying they were optimistic that he would win. Below are photos of the petitioner with supporters during and after the ruling.
