The DP who toured Kilifi County on invitation from Kilifi North MP Owen Baya for a fundraiser, was asked to ensure that the region benefits from government jobs and that more development projects are initiated.

"You have been a good friend of the region and any leader can attest to this because of your involvement. Today, I want to tell you that because of this good gesture, then we shall consider you in 2022," said Baya.

On her part, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa said that the fact that some poll losers in Kilifi got government jobs even after the region overwhelmingly voted for opposition is a sign that the DP has people's interests at heart.

While assuring the DP of the region's support in his presidential bid, Jumwa said that Ruto is ''their only hope''.
