Akothee has revealed that some of the residents are living with the HIV virus and are on Antiretroviral (ARV) drugs but they lack food.

Through her Facebook post on Wednesday, the singer asked Kenyans to support her programme with anything, ranging from clothing, food to utensils.

"Niletee nguo yako mzee , sufuria ama viatu ! Sina hata vyakula visivyo haribika! (Bring me your old clothes, utensils, shoes and food products that are non-perishable) I have a feeding program in Turkana every Thursday working together with the church. Some of them are on ARVS they need food."

"Please call the number below. Last time I had challenges in cooking or serving them, the disposable plates we bought were not good as the food was too hot they had to put food on the ground and you know Turkana is sandy," read Akothee's post.

She hit headlines in a few months ago after donating food to Turkana at a time the government was disputing claims that Turkan was hunger-stricken.
