Kirinyaga Governor Anne Mumbi has resumed work barely a week after marrying city lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo.
The county boss exchanged marriage vows and walked down the aisle with Waiganjo on Saturday in a traditional wedding ceremony known as 'Ngurario' among the Agikuyu community.
The event held at Kiamugumo Primary School in Gichugu constituency was attended by senior politicians who included President Uhuru Kenyatta, ODM party leader Raila Odinga and Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka.
It now emerges that the governor did not proceed on a long honeymoon immediately after the event, as on Thursday she was back in office to discharge her mandate.
The Governor joined county staff who included Deputy Governor (DG) Peter Ndambiri, members of County Executive Committee (CECs), Chief Officers (COs) at a team building event to 'reflect, recharge and re- energize our vision'.
"Alone a leader may go far, however, with a great team, a leader is unstoppable. Together with DG, CECs, COs and directors, we're developing leadership potential in staff so as to achieve our county vision," she tweeted.
On Thursday morning, she met a section of county workers where they discussed and clarified on their vision of 'improving the quality of life in Kirinyaga'.
"I was also pleased to commend the Finance team for surpassing the revenue target of Ksh. 430 million," she tweeted in the evening.
