He says white-collar jobs are scarce therefore need to venture into blue-collar jobs which are now paying well.

“I want to call upon youths not to just stay idle but try self-employment, this will help them earn a living and prevent them from involving in drug abuse and other evils,” said Uasin Gishu County Boss.

Mandago who spoke to the press in Eldoret town on Saturday urged youths to also pursue technical courses to enrich them with the skill to help them earn a living instead of just staying idle.

“Youths should embrace technical institutes and should refrain the notion that it is only meant for failures since after gaining the technical skills one can easily employ him or her self thus improving their livelihoods,” added the county boss.

Mandago noted that the main problems with youths are them engaging in taking illicit brew thus rendering economically unproductive advising them to refrain from using them if they want their future to be bright.

He noted that to ensure that the lives of youths are not destroyed he will ensure the sale and intake of illegal alcohol is a thing of the past by arresting and charging those involved.
