Timothy Morrison, a White House aide, appeared before an impeachment inquiry committee, corroborating claims that the president of the United States of America Donald Trump pressured the Ukrainian government to launch investigations into corruption claims against his possible rival, Democratic party front-runner Joe Biden.
Mr Morrison told the committee that a diplomat had told him that Ukraine had been told outright that it would not be given military assistance unless it committed to investigating Joe Biden.
The diplomat in question is William .B. Taylor who served in Ukraine.
Mr Taylor had appeared before the impeachment inquiry committee a few days ago and alleged that Trump had urged Ukraine to ignite the political investigations in exchange for millions of dollars in military assistance, an allegation that was corroborated by Tim Morrison.
Timothy Morrisson was chosen to appear before the committee because he was privy to important decisions made by the White House with regard to Ukraine.
A White House spokeswoman, Stephanie Grishams, issued a statement that attacked the proceedings, insisting that Donald Trump did nothing wrong.
She said that the Democrats we're keen on condemning the United States of America president without giving him a fair chance to defend himself.
“The Democrats want to render a verdict without giving the Administration a chance to mount a defense. That is unfair, unconstitutional, and fundamentally un-American,” Stephanie Grishams.
Tim Morrison told his colleagues at the White House that he was keen on leaving the administration.
