Addressing the press in Machakos town on Sunday, Munyaka said Ruto is the eligible Jubilee party candidate in 2022 stating that the party will fully support him.

Munyaka said Ruto has every right to contest for the presidency for two terms without restrictions that he has been a deputy president for ten years.

"Those claiming Ruto should retire from politics are not his spokespersons, they should know that the bill of rights allows Ruto to contest for president despite the fact that he served as deputy for a decade," Munyaka said.

Munyaka's sentiments were echoed by Mumias MP Benjamin Washiali who said there's no division in Jubilee party.

Washiali said there's no rift in Jubilee but just normal misunderstandings which cannot lead to division.

"Disagreements and misunderstandings are normal in parties and they don't always mean that everything will crumble, we have come from far to let everything go down the drain," Washiali said.

Washiali said as far as Ruto has not declared not to vie, he's still the best shot for Jubilee in 2022.

He asked leaders to stop politicking about 2022 and instead focus on service delivery to the electorates.

"We will cross that bridge when we come to it, for now, we should do our duty and that's to serve the people who entrusted us with their tax," Washiali concluded.
