The team allied to Deputy President William Ruto was suspiciously snubbed by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the latest list of state honours.
President Uhuru Kenyatta feted dozens of Kenyans with various state awards, which usually targets people who have performed exemplary.
But the list gazetted on Friday shows the Tangatanga brigade was omitted, a move that could raise questions about the intent.
Seven ‘handshake’ MPs led by Minority Whip Junet Mohamed were awarded First Class Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS), the country’s fourth-highest honour.
Others include Embrace leaders Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay), Millie Odhiambo (Mbita), Fatuma Gedi (Wajir), Rachel Nyamai (Kitui South) and Senator Stewart Madzayo (Kilifi) and MP Kanini Kega (Kieni).
Also honoured were the 14-member Building Bridges Initiative team, which is under Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji.
Besides the politicians, President Uhuru Kenyatta also recognized services of Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama and rugby ace Andrew Amonde.
"It is an honour to have received The Head of State Commendation from His Excellency President Uhuru Kenyatta. May this recognition inspire future generations of Sports men and women of our great nation, KENYA," tweeted Wanyama a few hours after the list was made public.
Uhuru has never hidden his frustrations towards the Tangatanga brigade, who he accuses of sabotaging service delivery.
