Eight people have been injured in a road accident at Kithianioni along Kithimani-Mwala road.
Confirming the incident Yatta OCPD Edward Kipsang said that the accident involved a 14 passenger matatu and a probox.
He said that the probox tried to overtake another heading to Kithimani from Mwala where it collided with the matatu leaving three critically injured and five with minor injuries.
"The accident has involved a probox and 14 passenger matatu where they collided head on. The probox was overspeeding and was trying to overtake another vehicle when the accident happened," said Kipsang.
The eight were rushed to Matuu level four hospital.
Kipsang sounded a warning to drivers using the road to avoid overspeeding.
The two vehicles were taken to Kithimani police station.
