Eight people were rescued after a building under construction collapsed in  Kirinyaga county.

The incident occurred on Tuesday morning.

Five of the victim were treated and discharged while  three others admitted

The Kenya Red Cross confirmed via twitter.

Red Cross and police carried out the search and rescue operations.

This followed heavy rains in several parts of the county where roads were also rendered impassable.
