Former Chief justice Willy Mutunga has revealed that 80 percent of Kenyan politicians are unfit to hold public office.
Mutunga said if chapter 6 of the constitution on ethics and integrity was to be implemented fully then 80 percent of Kenyan politicians would not be fit to be in office.
Mutunga spoke on Thursday at the official release of the report on governance and accountability and the state of human rights in Kenya by Freedom House, a rights NGO.
Mutunga said to kill corruption in the country we must start from the grassroots.
"And I am quite convinced and this is my dream, that in terms of corruption the first people to be hanged for corruption would be the governors and the MCAs by the people within the county themselves because they are very aware about it there," said Mutunga.
