The vehicle used for abduction of slain student Sharon Otieno belongs to a senior aide to Governor Okoth Obado's wife, Mrs. Hellen Obado, it has been established.
Police in Migori impounded the Black Toyota Fielder on Sunday and detained it at Oyugis Police station.
Its driver, Jackson Otieno, who operates as Taxi driver in Migori, was hurriedly arraigned in Oyugis law courts and police were granted 10 more days to interrogate him.
And on Monday, the owner of the vehicle, a senior aide to the First Lady, was interrogated by the police where the driver was being held.
It went missing two weeks ago when Ms. Otieno was murdered and was spotted on Sunday being driven by a senior county official who may have hired it unknowingly.
His name cannot be revealed since he has not been formally presented in court.
This comes after the DCI reportedly summoned the Governor's wife and she's due to be interrogated on Wednesday.
Ms. Otieno, whom the governor concedes having dated her, is yet to be buried as police intensify crackdown on her killers.
