Kamanda is leading a brigade of Jubilee Party leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta, which has repeatedly bashed the DP for several reasons among them, his early 2022 campaign.

Speaking on Wednesday, the former Starehe lawmaker said that they cannot just come to terms with Ruto's interference in the ongoing battle against corruption.

"Shida yetu na Ruto ni kwamba anajifanya mpelelezi katika kila kitu. Kila wakati anapiga vita wale wanaoongoza vita dhidi ya ufisadi (Our problem with Ruto is he is poising himself as the detective in everything. He is fighting everyone leading the fight against corruption), said Kamanda on Radio Jambo Mazungumzo Waziwazi show Wednesday night.

He noted the DP's proposal that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) exit the cases and be fully replaced with the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) is another issue making it hard to believe him.

"Mbona anataka EACC ndio ifanye uchunguzi? Kwani kuna watu wake pale ndio maana anasukuma ili EACC ndio ifanye hiyo kazi?" posed the nominated MP

It loosely translates to in English: "Why does he [Ruto] want EACC to handle the investigations? Are there his people there which is making him push this agenda so that EACC does this job?"

Kamanda insisted that his team will not sit and watch as Ruto's allies harass and insult the President as was the case in the past few days.

Other members of his team allied to Kamanda's "Team Kieleweke" include MPs Joshua Kuttuny (Cherangany) and Ngunjiri Wambugu (Nyeri Town), former Dagoretti MP Dennis Waweru and nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura.
