Wiper Pary has picked Matrhuki to deputize Wavinya in case there will be a by-election in Machakos. There is a petition at the Supreme Court waiting to be determined.

In an interview with a local daily on Wednesday, Mathuki accused the former Senator of trying to cause rifts between him and Wavinya.

He said that Muthama has no moral authority to dictate on who should be Waviny's running mate in case of a by-election in Machakos.

Mathuki said that Muthama is jealous and allegedly wants to frustrate their campaigns in the event the apex court rules in Wavinya's favour.

"I have so much respect for Muthama but he should also respect himself and stop poking his nose into my affairs," he said.

Mathuki said that he was picked by Wiper Party to deputize Wavinya in the 2017 gubernatorial election.

The former EALA MP said he will remain her running mate in case the Supreme Court orders for a by-election in Machakos.Muthama, however, is opposed to Mathuki deputizing Wavinya on grounds that he is unfit to hold the position.

Muthama has threatened to contest for the Machakos governor seat should Wiper fail to drop Mathuki.

The Supreme Court is yet to hear and determine Governor Mutua's appeal challenging the Court of Appeal ruling that nullified his victory in June.
