Interior Cabinet y Fred Matiang'i is free to join Nyamira gubernatorial race, ODM Treasurer Timothy Bosire has said.
While the tough talking minister has remained tight lipped about the issue, sources aver that he's keen to succeed Governor John Nyagarama.
And Bosire, who is also warming up for the race, said any Kenyan is free to exercise political rights according to the law.
"If the minister is ready to join the race, nothing will prevent him from doing so. He's very much welcome to test people's power.
"I will face him like any other candidate. In mature democracy, we respect the outcome of the majority," said Mr Bosire, a former Kitutu Masaba MP.
Last year, Bosire blamed Matiang'i for his shortfall in the elections, insisting that Jubilee used him to rig in incumbent Shadrack Mose.
And Mr Bosire, has since reconciled with Jubilee team following March 9th handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
