As war pitting President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto's political lieutenants within the Jubilee Party escalates, a Nyanza politician has now warned that the issue could boil out to unmanageable proportions if not addressed immediately.
Though the party's Secretary General Raphael Tuju on Monday denied allegations of infighting within the giant party, Rongo politician David Osiany believes that all is not well within the ruling party.
"Anyone saying that there is no problem in Jubilee is living in a fool's paradise. There are cracks that need to be sealed or the wall risks falling down," said Osiany during an interview on NTV.
While defending ODM leader Raila Odinga from claims that his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta was meant to destabilize Jubilee, the politician said that the move has nothing to do with 2022 politics.
"The Building Bridges Initiative document speaks to ethnicity as a pillar but one that has been abused over time. I refuse to believe that (Building Bridges Initiative) is part of politics," he said.
He further blamed the people close to the Deputy President for allegedly fueling tensions within the party after they allegedly registered a new political party as an alternative should Jubilee crumble.
