On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted the newly elected president of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Nairobi.
The meeting was attended by other leaders including the Deputy President William Ruto.
Uhuru stated that the visit was meant to strengthen ties between the two countries.
He added that in the past, Kenya experienced political tension which led to some instability and has learnt valuable lessons, which it is willing to share with other nations.
In his message, Uhuru promised Tshisekedi that Kenya is committed to helping DRC gain political stability. Tensions experienced in DRC after the recently concluded elections are what Kenya aims to help the country prevent and bring about the desired stability.
Mr.Kenyatta pledged that Kenya would support DRC in providing capacity-building through offering training to Congolese public servants in Kenya's learning institutions such as Kenya School of government.
This will help them deliver services effectively to DRC citizens, which will make the country progress and hence, gain stability.
"I am delighted to have received the president of Democratic Republic of Congo, H.E Felix Tshisekedi, at State House, Nairobi. President Tshisekedi's visit is aimed at strengthening ties between our two countries. I assured president Tshisekedi of Kenya's commitment to helping DRC achieve political stability," Kenyatta announced in a statement shortly after the meeting.
