Interior Cabinet secretary Fred Matiang'i has revealed why several government projects are stalling.
Matiang'i while speaking during an interview at a local Fm station on Wednesday morning said projects are stalling because some were underfunded while funds for other projects have been embezzled.
"We have several projects stalling in this country because those appointed to manage the projects have diverted the funds to their own pockets while others received fewer funds thus making their completion difficult," said Matiang'i.
He insisted that there will be no new project which will be started before the end of the existing project.
"It is an order no project which is going to start before we complete the stalled projects across the country. Contractors should also not take up more than two contracts which will be hard for them to complete in time," he stated.
Matiang'i threatened that any contractor who will delay the completion of work within the stipulated time will be compelled to pay fines to the government.
"We can't condone lazy contractors. Any contractor should complete work quickly but, must deliver the expected standard on that project," noted Matiang'i.
