President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived at Heathrow Airport in London later on Saturday night for a series of trade related meetings.
Kenya's ambassador to United Kingdom Manoah Esipisu welcomed the president ahead of UK-Africa summit which kicks off on Monday.
It is the first trip by Uhuru since the election of Boris Johnson as British Prime Minister.
His predecessor, Theresa May, visited Kenya in 2018.
"Welcomed HE President Uhuru Kenyatta to London ahead of #InvestInAfrica Summit on Monday. Kenya is at the centre of the UK’s engagement with Africa. #InvestInKenya @StateHouseKenya @KanzeDena @BorisJohnson @RoyalFamily," Esipisu said.
Earlier, outgoing Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma arrived in London to usher in the head of state.
It's probably her last foreign mission before handing over to Raychelle Omamo.
"Arrived in London, ahead of H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta who, at the invitation of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, will join other leaders for the Africa-UK investment summit on 20th January 2020," Monica Juma said.
The president shall visit Buckingham palace in London where he will briefly meet the ageing Queen Elizabeth II.
But because of her advanced age, Uhuru will meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton on behalf of the Queen for talks.
