In an interview with the Sunday Standard, Mudavadi said that the increased debt burden has plunged the nation into a state of desperation, adding that the Jubilee government has failed.

Mudavadi also said that President Uhuru Kenyatta’s successor is doomed because of the heavy debt burden.

He argued that the debt burden has made Kenyans slaves of foreign nations before the money in question cannot be accounted for fully by the government of the day.

“With the kind of debt mess we are in, the next administration will have a difficult task operating, the legacy for Uhuru is the heavy debt he has committed the country to,” he said, as quoted by Standard.

Mudavadi noted that the government of the day has proven that it has no goodwill for the population because of its borrowing and corruption.

He noted that unless something is done in time, Kenya  is bound to fail. He said that many projects have failed because of graft.

Hello further made a reference to the Mudavadi singled out the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) and Galana-Kulalu irrigation project.

“Corruption is hurting this country, in every project implemented we see overpricing in terms of millions and billions meant to feed the thieving government officials,” he said.
