Deputy President William Ruto's allies announcement to be part of the ongoing Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) forums should be expected to spark a number of changes.

The group on Tuesday said that it will be fully involved in the next phase of the forums, which is scheduled for Mombasa county on Saturday, after weeks of questioning the forums.

First and foremost,  expect fewer criticisms of Ruto's camp now that the team will be among the attendants.

Several leaders in the previous rallies have criticized the camp for being against progress. In the Kakamega BBI forum, Cherengani MP Joshua Kuttuny accused the DP of being against constitutional changes, citing the 2010 constitution.

With original BBI supporters wanting to look inclusive as they have claimed, they would not want to attack Tanga Tanga. This is also because his allies will be around to set the record straight about allegations that might be untrue, which will force leaders in attendance to stick to the BBI debate.

Secondly, the rallies will be less charged. The rallies will be hit by tension, as a result of the coming together of two political sides that have been disagreeing lately.

The same will be the case among the supporters after Senate Majority boss Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday announced that they will mobilize their supporters to also attend the forums.

Since politicians have mastered the art of warming up the crowds by attacking the deemed rival, it will be very hard going forward. This will be both because the rival is represented, and also because his allies have made it clear that he is not a rival but a supporter.

The rallies could also be marred with confusion. Before the entry of Ruto's allies, planning and organizing the BBI forums was entirely the job of pro-BBI force allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

But with the entry of Tangatanga, they too will demand inclusion in planning and organizing the functions.

This could result in confusion and even wrangles, due to the suspicion already existing between them, with BBI team likely to insist that the job is theirs since their leaders Uhuru and Raila are the founders of the initiative.

On the other hand, Tangatanga will argue that the entire BBI process, beginning with planning the events, must be inclusive, and they must, therefore, be involved in the primary exercises.

There is also the question of protocol; For instance, if the DP attends one of the forums, who between him and Raila will preside over it.

Therefore, the entry of the Tangatanga squad will only complicate the BBI forums but are likely to make them less of the political rallies they currently are.
