This follows revelations that President Uhuru Kenyatta wants to oust leaders linked to his deputy William Ruto, as he seeks to take control of both the National Assembly and Senate.

However, Duale on Thursday rubbished the claims, saying that there are no such plans. He termed the ongoing claims about a possible house-cleaning exercise as rumours.

“Those talking about that (ouster) should not bring their issues to Parliament. Let them stick to funerals and barazas. In Parliament, we don't have Kieleweke or Tangatanga factions. We only have the Jubilee party under my leadership,” the Garissa Town MP told the Star.

The paper reports that apart from majority leaders and whips, the president is also keen on uprooting Ruto's men from committee leadership positions and replace them with his.

The said plot has since been confirmed by Nyeri Town MP Njungiri Wambugu, a staunch supporter of the president.

The youthful parliamentarian on Thursday said that they only want people who can help the president with his delivery plan and not those who are fighting him.

"We will not allow those meant to promote and defend the President’s position to attack and undermine it, as happened in 2019. Any Jubilee MP who currently occupies a leadership position in either Senate or the National Assembly is therefore on notice,” he said on Thursday.
