This comes at a time when the government has announced plans to extend the railroad to Kisumu, a proposal that enjoys the full support of opposition leader Raila Odinga.

Etale now says that the plan is legitimate, adding that the expansion, once complete, will be super beneficial to the Western Kenya region on matters economic growth.

Coming at a time when a section of Kenyans have questioned Raila's inclusion on the issue since he hails from the opposition wing, Etale offered to give more details on the same in due time.

"I will be telling you FACTS about SGR, it's origininal plan and how it is going to make Western Region an economic hub. Keep it here," he wrote.

Uhuru and Raila have since announced their joint visit to China next week, as they seek the needed 368 million shillings for the remaining part of the job.

However, this comes as an irony, considering that the ODM boss termed the project a fraud during the 2017 election campaigns, at a time when Uhuru was his sworn political enemy.
