A deputy head teacher was on Monday arraigned before a Kisumu Law Court to answer to charges of sexually assaulting three girls.

Dan Mathews Odhiambo of Arombo Primary School in Nyando, Kisumu County was being accused of allegedly defiling the girls on different dates.

The court heard that the accused person allegedly defiled two girls aged 15 years from the same school and another girl aged 14 years from a different school.

He is accused that on diverse dates in October 2018, he defiled the first 15-year-old minor at a primary school of Kochieng’ East sub location in Nyando sub-county where he is accused of also defiling the second 15-year-old girl from the same school on diverse dates in January 2019.

On June 8, 2019, at a primary school in Kondele location, Kisumu Central sub-county, the court heard that the accused person defiled another 14-year-old girl.

According to the Standard, the accused denied all the charges before Nyando Senior Principal Magistrate Patrick Olengo.

He filed an application to be released on bail and the court granted his application and ordered that he be released on an Sh200,000 bond for each of the three charges.

The accused however failed to pay the bond and was remanded at Kodiaga Prison.

The case will be mentioned on July 12 with the hearing set for October 16.
