Political analyst Dennis Anyoka has opined that Deputy President Dr William Ruto will be the greatest beneficiary in the Kibra by-election.
Speaking exclusively to Media Max-owned K24 TV station, the renowned analyst contended that the DP would benefit from the opportunity to project his political clout.
"Ruto is likely to be the greatest beneficiary of the Kibra by-elections because he would want to demonstrate that he still can antagonise, you know, the handshake. He still can go into an area that was originally perceived as an ODM stronghold and get something out of it," the political analyst said.
Anyoka's sentiments come amid speculation that the deputy president has sponsored a candidate in the impending by-election.
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has a number of aspirants who have demonstrated their interest in the Kibra seat and who will be subjected to a nomination process before being given the ticket to fly the party's flag.
Confusion rocked the ruling Jubilee party on Tuesday after the Secretary-General Raphael Tuju said that a letter to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) with the names of its alleged aspirants was not authentic.
Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC) has settled on former Raila Odinga's aide Eliud Owalo who resigned from ODM.
