In a tweet on Wednesday evening, the exiled lawyer attacked the legislator for his public stunt.

"These MPigs loot trillions of Kenya shillings from poverty-stricken citizens every year. However, instead of limiting or eliminating their thirst for theft of public resources, they are quick to publish PR pictures. No depth. No vision. No integrity," he said.

Miguna opined that the legislator should have sent the money through the bank instead of flying to India.

"The MPig should have placed the 200 rupees in the mail or used Western Union (and used the rest of the money in Nyaribari or Kenyan people) instead of this pathetic attention-seeking PR stunt," he added

Tongi flew with his wife, Michelle Tongi to India to go and repay a loan he took while still a student at an Indian college back in the 1980s.

“I had a debt from 23 years ago that I had not paid, they (Gawlis) had given me food, but I had not paid. So when I got married, I vowed to return to India and payback. Now, my heart is at peace,” he said.
