Thirdway Alliance Leader Ekuru Aukot has promised to offer legal services to rapper King Kaka in any suit over his recent release "Wajinga Nyinyi.
The former presidential candidate on Tuesday said that he is ready to defend the artist after Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru said that she will take action against him if he doesn't apologize and pull down the song within 48 hours.
The artist has already lamented that his life is in danger after he released the composition. "Happy to offer pro bono services for @RabbitTheKing. Theft of public funds should be fought by all Kenyans," he said.
Waiguru has accused the singer of defamation. She has affirmed that she was not summoned or charged over graft following the National Youth Service (NYS) Saga. The governor argues that the singer's composition has spoiled her good reputation and Kaka needs to apologize before he lands behind bars over the same.
“You ought to have known that despite extensive investigations and several prosecutions in relation to the loss of funds at NYS, our client has never been charged in a court of law as an accused person in relation to NYS or any other scandal ...,” reads the letter in part.
The threats of the governor continue to elicit mixed reactions from various factions.
