The launch will see Sh7.9 million given to the disabled across the six Sub Counties.

Speaking during the launch, Governor Jackson Mandago called on the beneficiaries to make good use of the money so as to change their lives.

"If you have a business, use the funds to expand your venture as we also expect you to employ more youths," said Mandago.

The Governor further challenged PWDs in the county to form groups so as to exploit the 30 per cent tenders that are reserved for them.

"The 30 per cent tenders advertised in all companies and institutions belong to you and you will get them when you have registered companies," he noted.

Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker David Kiplagat who also attended the launch said the assembly will support any programme that works to uplift the lives of PWDs.

Beneficiaries were recommended by the Sub County appraisal committees.

"This fund will help us better our businesses. I have a shop and I hope to use the money to expand it. I thank the Governor for this," said one of the beneficiaries.
