Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore is dead.

According to a statement from the leading mobile service provider, Collymore died this morning at his home. 

The CEO had travelled to the United Kingdom in October 2017, to seek treatment after he suffered from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. 

He resumed his work in July 2018 after months of treatment.  Collymore was born in Guyana before he relocated to the UK.

The CEO died of cancer.
