Speaking on Standard Media Group-owned KTN's 'Point Blank' on Wednesday night, the outspoken political commentator unloaded on the Thirdway Alliance leader's detractors.

Muluka said that critics of 'Punguza Mizigo' we're wrong in launching blistering attacks on Dr Aukot who he said had every right as a law abiding citizen to seek constitutional changes through his initiative.

"Two things to be said about Pungiza Mizigo: 1) Those telling Aukot you should not have done what you have done are wrong and they are some of the very fellows who tried to pass themselves as the paragons of democracy and constitutionalism in this coutry ," the ANC secretary general said.

Veteran opposition and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has led his backers in pouring scorn on Aukot's initiative.

Mr Odinga has called on Kenyans to ignore the 'Punguza Mizigo' and wait for the recommendations of the report being compiled by the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) committee members.

Aukot had sought through his initiative to reduce the burden of political representation on the taxpayers and target resources directly at the grassroots.

Critics charge that the Thirdway Alliance's supremo did not seek the input of Kenyans and that his initiative will sound a death knell to devolution.
