Speaking on Friday when he interacted with pupils at Gekomu Primary School, the MP raised concerns over the high rate at which young girls in the constituency are dropping out of school due to early pregnancies.

The legislator argued that men should instead go for mature women to marry or engage in sex with.

"I'm urging men fond of chasing our young girls for illicit sex to stop the behaviour and give ample time to the minors to complete their studies. The girl child must be respected. Men should look for mature women to seduce and stop using money to lure young girls in primary school into sex," said Tong'i.

The lawmaker appealed to parents not to deny the girl child education, adding that throughout his tenure he will use funds from the CDF kitty to provide a conducive learning environment to all learners.

"Teachers should be good role models to learners because the lives of the future generation depend on education," said the Jubilee MP.

He further urged chiefs to apprehend men chasing young girls for sex and surrender them to police for court processing.
