As many suicidal deaths escalate in Gusii region, another man was found dead after hanging himself.
This happened at Nyamache market in Kisii County after the body of a man who was identified as Stephen Omweri was found dangling from the roof in his house.
The assistant chief of Masigoma sub location Evans Mocheche confirmed the incident, saying the man is a businessman in the market and was found dead in what is believed to be suicide.
“We woke up today in a rude shock after learning that Stephen Omweri is no more. He is a great business person in this market. His ancestral home is in Nyaronge but was staying here for business reasons,” he said at the scene.
This adds up to the list of many suicidal deaths that have been experienced in the region, with many linked to family conflicts.
Police officers arrived and took the body to the morgue. According to the chief, investigations have began to determine the cause of the death.
