Cases of pastors fornicating with their female members have been on the rise with the situation getting worse by day.
The situation has more so been escalated by the sprouting of churches that seemingly have weak moral virtues and values.
But why do these religious leaders entrusted with societal moral and spiritual guidance opt for the 'things of the flesh' setting a bad example to their followers and the society in general?
1. Lust: The reason why a religious leader who could even be married fornicate with a female member of his church could only be informed by lust. This spiritual guide allows the desires of the flesh to reign over him as opposed to spirit.
2. Lack of self-control: This is a gift of the Holy Spirit which everybody is gifted with. So, a pastor who decides to 'deactivate' this noble gift will definitely find himself sleeping with one church member to the next.
3. Temptations: However spiritual a religious leader can turn out to be, it is good to remember he/she is still human. So, he is vulnerable to temptations and can fall into the trap especially where randy female church members dress skimpily and sit where they are sure to attract the pastor's attention. Nevertheless, this can never be an excuse for the pastor who finds himself in this situation as he has a defensive weapon called prayers.
4. Weak faith: A religious leader who preaches water and drinks wine behind his followers backs simply has no faith in the kind of things he preaches about at the pulpit. He is simply a hypocrite and a betrayer of the Gospel of Christ.
