Speaking during an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Kajwang argued that Deputy President William Ruto has converted Khalwale into a stone thrower. He noted that it is demeaning to see such a scene in the political arena.

Kajwang said that Khalwale is a respected leader, adding that he cannot engage in such drama.

"I am very embarrassed on Bonny Khalwale’s behalf, in fact, the deputy president should tell this country what he has done to him to convert him into a stone-throwing hooligan from the respected senator and public officer he has been," he said.

Speaking during the same interview Kikuyu Member of Parliament Kimani Ichung'wa said that elections are not meant to cause division. He noted that as much as one has to win an election, violence is not acceptable at all.

"Anybody who goes into the elections goes into it to win. However, elections are about having an impartial process and with the violence coming from Kibra people, you question whether it was an impartial process," he said.
