For months now, a section of leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto has been opposing BBI campaigns saying that they are not necessary.

But in a press conference on Tuesday, the leaders led by Murkomen promised to attend the rallies and help in coordinating the events.

“To this end, we demand that the entire BBI process be driven in an open and transparent manner by the gazetted committee,” he said, according to Citizen Digital.

He further reiterated DP William Ruto’s sentiments that public funds should not be used to organize BBI rallies unless appropriated by parliament or county assemblies.

“Our participation & organization of BBI rallies shall be through personal."

But Ole Kina said the move was necessary, suggesting that they had been outwitted by the team leading nationwide campaigns.

"If you can’t beat them join them! Welcome aboard @kipmurkomen and team!" wrote Mr Ole Kina on his Twitter account.

DP Ruto's team will make the first appearance on Saturday in Mombasa, something that could be followed keenly by pundits across the country.

Previously meetings have been used as an avenue to take swipes on leaders supposedly opposing the Building Bridges Initiative report.
