You are a good man, at least by a reasonable margin. She knows she won’t get someone as half as good as you are, but then there’s something lacking about you. She cannot pinpoint it exactly but she knows she has to try her lack somewhere without sacrificing the current relationship.

There has to be a fallback plan. And you are that plan. At some point, you begin questioning whether she loves you or not. You either can’t tell if she’s cheating or not. Something nags your mind, that there’s something about to go down. 

Day in day out, your brain picks tiny pieces of information, telling you that the relationship is not okay. She’s about to move on, the brain tells you. And you wait for her to say it. She doesn’t. Instead, she changes.  

Here are some of the changes that should tell you her attempts to move on failed. 

She suddenly becomes too nice

You have been used to a brush her, a lady that does not seem to care at all. She insults you, and you got the sense that she actually meant it, especially upon the slightest provocation. But then one day, she changes suddenly and becomes this nice lady that you wonder where she’s been along. She must have been testing waters somewhere, without putting her two feet in it. 

She begins making plans 

She has plans now. Grand plans. She wants you two to get married and suddenly tells you to get rid of some of your bad habits in a nice way. She has made a decision that you are the one, in such a manner that gets you abruptly. 

She buys presents 

You’ve dated for two or three years but in that period she has never bought you anything. then she starts buying you little things here and there. She may be appreciating the fact that you are that nice guy he won’t ever find in anyone. 

She makes impromptu visits 

Again in the three years that you’ve dated, she has always whined about money every time the two of you have scheduled to meet. At no single time has she left the stage without you. One day you hear a knock and she’s there. She catches you by surprise. At that point, you know you are the one because she has failed elsewhere.
