Bodaboda riders in Chebilat, Nyamira County are yet to come to terms with the death of their colleague who was found murdered and his body dumped in a bush.
The riders led by Chebilat bodaboda chairman Paul Mosioma protested the killing of Victor Kipkorir whose body was discovered lying in a bush on Tuesday.
"Thugs killed Kipkorir, dumped his body and stole his motorbike. His body was recovered by a woman who was taking her goats to graze at the bush and alerted the public," noted Mosioma.
The chairman argued that the deceased who hails from Sotik had a deep cut on his head.
He appealed to police officers in the area to expedite the investigation and bring the killers to book as well as recover the stolen motorbike.
"Police officers should intensify security patrols day and night to keep off thugs. I urge bodaboda riders to be vigilant at all times to curb similar incidences," he stated.
Nyamira County commissioner Amos Mariba assured riders that their security will be looked into adding that police are probing the matter.
He urged them to report suspicious characters to the police.
"Riders should report to police anyone they suspect is coordinating the theft of their motorbikes for arrests to be made. The body of the deceased was moved by police and taken to Nyamira County Hospital morgue," said the commissioner.
