Celebrated reggae DJ Chris Odhiambo famously known as Kriss Darlin is currently the talk of town after kneeling before ODM party leader Raila Odinga, in Nairobi on Sunday.
The DJ is among a host of candidates expected to face off in an ODM nomination exercise expected to be conducted on Saturday.
The winner of the nomination will be the party's representative in the by-election slated for November 7.
Darlin's decision to kneel before Odinga in what was seen as a bid to get the latter's support, has received backing and loathing in equal measure.
Celebrated musician Suzzana Owiyo is among those who have expressed support for the DJ.
In a tweet on Monday, Owiyo said Kriss Darlin needed to prove himself at the moment, as the race is stiff.
“Well, I don’t see the problem in kneeling down. Kriss Darling needed to prove himself at the moment! In a podium like that & being new in the game, you must find a way to be different. I wish him plus other candidates well! Kibra politics not a joke," she posted.
Over 20 aspirants have joined the race to succeed late Kibra MP Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer last month. Among them is his brother Imran Okoth.
