Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria is set to be arraigned in court on Friday to take plea in a case where he is accused of assaulting a woman at Royal Media Services premises on December 8, 2019.
The MP did not take plea last week as it had been scheduled.
Lawyers John Khaminwa and Harun Ndubi who are representing Mr Kuria, are reported to have contested the validity of the court documents leading to the postponement of the plea-taking.
The court will also rule on the validity of the charge sheet of the case today.
Joyce Wanja, the complainant in the case, claimed that Moses Kuria physically assaulted her after she confronted him about his remarks at a previous function.
Both Kuria and Wanja had been invited to talk about the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report on Citizen TV.
An order was consequently issued for Kuria to be arrested due to the allegations that had been levelled against him.
"This is to confirm that the order was issued by this court on January 10. It is authentic and you may proceed with the necessary action," read part of a letter from the Milimani Chief Magistrate's Court addressed to the OCS in Kilimani.
Moses Kuria and several politicians had however claimed that the case was politically instigated.
