Through his official Facebook page, Dr Mishra admitted that he pledged to support the patient with Sh1 million towards his treatment and quick transfer to India.

He said the family and friends of Jude fundraised Sh2.9 million for the same which was under their control.

It has been claimed that the MP had swindled the amount raised after it was handed to him. He has however dismissed the claims pointing out that "Despite requests by Jude and team to transfer my contribution to them directly, I opted to transfer the amount, my contribution to the hospital directly once his treatment continued."

"I am saddened that even after my efforts to help the patient travel to India for treatment; the outcome has been political backlash and incitement against me and my ambition for the people of Kesses who put me in office to work for them," Mishra said in the post.

He provided receipts for his payments to Yashoda Hospital and questioned why the Sh2.9 million collected had not been paid.
