The body of Daniel Terer, a former teacher at Chemamit Primary School was found naked in Olenguruone.

According to the Trans Mara East Police Commander Fred Abuga, preliminary investigations into the case suggest that the late teacher was killed elsewhere before his body was dumped in the river.

“We suspected that the matter is a murder case after his clothes were found inside a river in Litein (Kericho County) and his body dumped elsewhere,” Abuga stated.

A police statement recorded by the headteacher of  Chemamit Primary School indicated that the deceased was picked from the school by unidentified people.

The strangers are said to have shown up at the school on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, in a saloon car.  the school headteacher confirmed that officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) had visited the school while conducting investigations.

Terer's body was then moved to a mortuary in Olenguruone.

This comes shortly after another body of a 56-year-old fisherman who had been missing for about two weeks was found in River Nyamindi in Mt Kenya forest.
