Controversial singer Esther Akoth popularly known as Akothee has elicited mixed reactions online after she was on Wednesday temporarily denied access to Parliament buildings over her dress code.

Akothee was forced to cover herself using a 'leso' before she was allowed to access Parliament.

Taking to social media, the mother of five made light of the moment, arguing that she appeared to be wearing a mini skirt as her legs are longer than the skirt.

"It's my legs that are longer than the skirt, trust me it's not me 🙆‍♀️. I thought I was officially dressed until I was lessod 🙆‍♀️🙆‍♀️🤣🤣 , well that was fun," read her Facebook post in part. 

The artist revealed that she had gone to Parliament to invite MPs for the launch of Akothee Foundation which will be held at the Weston Hotel on September 28, 2019.

"I have invited the Members of Parliament to come join me in the official launch of Akothee foundation on the 28th of September. I can't make a change in Turkana or the lives of people alone without them! I need everyone's support. Thanks a lot waheshimiwa as I wait to see and shake your hands!" she added.

She further promised to wear a pair of trousers during her next visit to Parliament.
