Three commissioners at the TSC are set to retire following the expiry of their terms in office.

TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia is among the top officials set to leave the office.

Uhuru is expected to either reappoint Macharia or appoint a new CEO for the position.

Other commissioners working with Macharia are Tache Gollo, Kinoti Imanyara, Albert Ekirapa, Beatrice Adu, and Mbarak Twahir.

The tenure of commissioners Saadia Abdi Kontoma, Cleophas Tirop and Salome Gichura came to an end this August.

Tirop left office after his six-year tenure ended in April while Kontoma and Gichura also exited at the start of the month of August after their tenure ended.

According to the Standard Digital, Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua has asked different stakeholders to present names of their preferred candidates for nomination into different positions.

Kinyua expects the names to be sent before August 16, 2019.

TSC Act as quoted by the Standard provides that; “The selection panel shall, within seven days of convening, invite applications from persons who qualify for nomination and appointment as chairperson or member of the Commission by advertisement in at least two daily newspapers of national circulation."

The panel will shortlist several candidates for interviews before the selection is conducted.
