Speaking on Monday, the trade unionist saw no harm in the additional Sh250,000 house allowance pay, noting that the MPs need the money to please the electorate.

But speaking on Wednesday, Weda wondered how such remarks can come from a man elected to represent poor workers, observing that he could have quietly dropped his roles.

"He is representing himself and not workers anymore. How does a man representing underpaid workers advocate for higher MPs pay?" he posed.

Weda was speaking on KBC English Service's The Big Conversation show on Wednesday morning.

In a press conference, Atwoli said that the MPs need the money for handouts and fundraisers, saying that Kenyans are over depending on them for easy and free money.

But Weda faulted the remarks, saying that the group does not need extra money from the taxpayer as they promised to be servants of the people when they were seeking the positions.

He added that its was very wrong for Atwoli to include the name name Kenyans in what is openly greed on the side of MPs.

"None of these MPs were forced to vie, they are the ones who begged Kenyans for the positions. Therefore, its wrong to say that they are taking the extra money to Kenyans," he added.

This is not the first time Atwoli is making controversial political remarks, as he has been involved in many political fights with allies of Deputy President William Ruto lately.
