West Pokot Governor John Lonyangapuo has said that he is yet to make up his mind on his choice for the 2022 presidential race.

The county boss on Tuesday noted that he remains in the dark on the list of persons to choose from since only Deputy President William Ruto has made his declaration so far.

He added that though he has been seen close to the DP lately, he will not rush to make decisions and must weigh all the aspirants before settling on his preferred one.

"I applaud the Deputy President lakini bado sijajua wakina nani watajitokeza baadaye. Hadi watu wajitokeze ndipo nitakapoamua (I support the Deputy President but I will wait for others to come up first. I must weigh all the other aspirants before reaching a decision)," he said.

The county boss was speaking on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha, where he defended the DP over claims of engaging in early campaigns, thanks to his nationwide tours.

Lonyangapuo said that Ruto is simply trying to push for the realization of the Jubilee government's agenda, and should not be taken to be campaigning ahead of time.

"Nampa hongera Deputy President maana yuko na nguvu ya kusukuma implementation ya manifesto ya serikali. Lazima ufuatilie ujue kama kazi inafanyika (I laud the Deputy President for his energy towards pushing for the implementation of the government's manifesto. One must do follow up to ensure that work is ongoing)," he said.
