In an interview with K24 ON Sunday, Kobia said that Wambui remains a good choice by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

She argued that a young man was not an ideal candidate for the position because the job required experience and they young need more time to learn.

She also said that individuals given such appointments rarely attend meetings and a young person will feel inadequate at the end of the day.

Kobia also said that all Uhuru wants is to ensure there is better service delivery, adding that it is not about the youth or old but results.

“If you appoint a 25-year-old to chair a board, they will feel inadequate because they lack experience. And this is not a full-time job, it pays so little,” Kobia explained.

She also said that she felt so bad when she saw Kenyans on social media and other platforms attacking Mary Wambui after she was given the job.

“I did not take it very kindly that Mary Wambui was being dragged into that kind of a conversation that she was not qualified,” she added.

Mary Wambui’s appointed was halted by Senator Johnson Sakaja and other parties went to court to question her merit for the job.
